None will be spared for drug abuse: Tuku

TANGAIL, March 21, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salauddin Tuku today said anyone involved in drug abuse will be brought under the law and none will be spared in this regard. 

“Drug abuse has become a severe menace for society. So everyone must remain aware of it,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at a traditional horse race  competition held at Chilabari School ground in Dyaina Union under Tangail Sadar upazila.

He also instructed the local administration to take a strict stance against drug abuse.

Tuku praised the horse racing event for preserving rural traditions and said initiatives like this make Eid celebrations more vibrant. 

Mentioning that the promises made before the election are being implemented step by step, he said development activities will be carried out based on public demand and employment opportunities will be created for unemployed youth.

Tangail district BNP President Hasanuzzaman Shahin inaugurated the horse race. The state minister’s spouse Sayma Parveen Simmi was present as the special guest.

Shahjahan Siraj, Senior Vice-President of Dyaina Union BNP chaired it. 

After the end of the event, the state minister distributed prizes among the winners.
