PM exchanges pleasantries with Residential Model College students at JS

DHAKA, April 30, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman exchanged pleasantries with his alma mater Dhaka Residential Model College students, who came to visit the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) here today.

Around one hundred and fifty students from grade VI to XI from Dhaka Residential Model College, from where the Prime Minister passed secondary school certificate (HSC) exams, visited the parliament this afternoon to observe the JS session.

At that time, a brief presentation was delivered to them at the JS oath room on the architecture of the parliament building and the legislative process.

On the occasion, Prime Minister and Leader of the House Tarique Rahman said, "I was a student of Residential College, and my brother Arafat Rahman Koko was also a student of the school (section of this college)."

He wished the students continued success in contributing to nation-building.

Later, the Prime Minister exchanged greetings and took part in a photo session with the students and teachers present.

Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon was also present.

Earlier, the education minister sent a letter to the JS speaker requesting allocation of a total of 150 seats in the visitor galleries, including 50 seats reserved for children to inspire them in patriotism and provide with ideas of the legislative process.

As part of this initiative, students are regularly visiting parliament.

Since the Leader of the House and Prime Minister was scheduled to deliver a speech in parliament today, he invited students from his former college through the Education Minister.
