DHAKA, April 30, 2026 (BSS) - The newly appointed Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP) of the River Police, Md. Rezaul Karim, formally 
assumed charge today, according to a press release. 

Prior to his posting as Additional IGP of the River Police, he served as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Telecom, Dhaka (Supernumerary 
Additional IGP).

Rezaul Karim joined the Bangladesh Police in 1995 as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) through the 15th BCS (Police) batch. 

Over his distinguished career, he has served with integrity, professionalism, and efficiency in various important positions, including DIG (Development) at 
Police Headquarters, Dhaka, and DIG (Admin) at Highway Police Headquarters.

Upon his arrival at the River Police Headquarters today, he was warmly received by DIG (Admin and Finance) of River Police, Md. Mizanur Rahman. 

Senior officers, including Additional DIGs, Superintendents of Police, Additional Superintendents, and other members of the force, were present on 
the occasion.
