BARISHAL, May 27, 2026 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon has said communal harmony must be maintained in the country foiling any evil attempt to destroy it.

“People of different faiths have been living together peacefully for a long time in Bangladesh. However, a certain group has been trying to artificially create communal division,” he told an Eid greeting exchange ceremony at Agailjhara upazila auditorium here today.

BNP’s Agailjhara Upazila unit and its affiliated bodies organized the event.

Swapon urged the government officials to carry out their responsibilities for the development of the country and the welfare of its citizens.

Agailjhara UNO Likhan Banik, Upazila BNP convener Shikdar Hafizur Islam, leaders and workers of local units of BNP and its associate bodies were present.
