Probe body formed over death of 6 newborns at Ad-Din hospital

DHAKA, May 27, 2026 (BSS) - Health and Family Welfare Ministry has formed a three-member investigation committee following the deaths of six newborn babies at Ad-din Medical College Hospital in the capital’s Maghbazar area.

The committee has been asked to investigate the causes of the deaths and submit a report within the next three days, said an office order today.

A joint secretary for private health management of Health Services Division has been appointed as the chairman of the committee while deputy director (hospital-1) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will serve as member secretary and assistant director (legal wing) of the DGHS as member.

The committee may co-opt any member if necessary.
