
DHAKA, May 27, 2026 (BSS) - Five more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today.
The report said no deaths from confirmed measles were recorded during the period, although five deaths occurred among patients showing measles symptoms.
According to DGHS data, since March 15, a total of 88 people have died from confirmed measles, while 472 deaths have been reported among suspected measles cases over the same period.
The report also said that since March 15, the number of confirmed measles cases has reached 8,834, while suspected measles cases stood at 67,079.
During the same period, 53,463 people were admitted to hospitals with suspected measles, while 49,903 patients recovered and were discharged.
