Pedestrian killed in Bagerhat road accident

BAGERHAT, May 27, 2026 (BSS) - A pedestrian was killed in a motorcycle accident in Morelganj upazila of Bagerhat this afternoon. 
 
The accident took place on the Bogy-to-Rayenda regional road in the Doctor's Crossing area of Bolibunia Union of the upazila. 
 
The deceased has been identified as Md. Mohiuddin Talukder (55). He is a resident of Ward No. 6 of Uttar Sutaldi village of the upazila and is the son of Osman Talukder.
 
According to police and local sources, Mohiuddin Talukder was on his way to Kalikabari from the Doctor's Crossing in the afternoon when an unknown motorcycle hit him from behind. He fell on the road with serious injuries. The motorcycle driver fled the scene after the accident.
 
Local people rescued him in a seriously injured condition and sent him to the Khulna General 250-bed Hospital. However, he died on the way to Khulna. 
 
Upon receiving the information, Morelganj Police Station reached the spot and normalized traffic on the road. The police operation is continuing to identify the person involved in the killing.
 
Legal action is underway, said police.
