DHAKA, June 18, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj today said the government has undertaken an initiative to establish "Math Labs" in government primary schools across the country in phases to build a science and technology-oriented generation by enhancing students' mathematics-based skills, logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a exchange of views meeting with students, teachers and guardians following a visit to Glenrich International School at Satarkul (Badda) in the capital, said a press release.

The State Minister said, "The world is rapidly moving towards a technology-driven economy and a knowledge-based society. To keep pace with this transformation, the foundation of mathematics, science and innovative thinking among children must be strengthened from an early age."

He said a plan has been taken to establish Math Labs in primary schools as part of efforts to create a modern, time-befitting and enjoyable learning environment.

Bobby Hajjaj further said, "In light of the current government's election manifesto and Prime Minister Tareq Rahman's visionary education vision, we want to bring a fundamental transformation to the country's primary education system."

He added, "We are committed to building a primary education system where every student will have equal opportunities to prepare themselves as future scientists, engineers, researchers and technology innovators. The Math Lab is a very important and revolutionary step towards achieving that goal."
