AZM Zahid reaches Islamabad for 9th OIC ministerial conference on women

DHAKA, July 11, 2026 (BSS) - Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare Minister Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain has reached Islamabad, Pakistan, leading a Bangladesh delegation to attend the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, scheduled to be held on July 12-13.

Pakistan's Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik and Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan Md. Iqbal Hossain Khan received the delegation at Islamabad International Airport. 

The delegation includes, among others, Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Yasmin Parveen and the minister's Private Secretary Dr. Md. Mahmudul Haque.

After reaching the Pakistani capital, the minister visited the newly constructed Bangladesh Chancery Complex in Islamabad's Diplomatic Enclave.

Officials and staff members of the Bangladesh High Commission welcomed him at the chancery premises. The minister exchanged greetings with the officials and employees of the High Commission and planted a sapling on the mission premises.
