Deputy Speaker visits ailing former President Jamiruddin Sircar at hospital

DHAKA, July 11, 2026 (BSS) - Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kayser Kamal, MP, today visited ailing former President and former Speaker Barrister Muhammad Jamiruddin Sircar at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in the capital's Shyamoli area to inquire about his health.

During the visit, the Deputy Speaker wished Barrister Sircar a speedy recovery and long life. He also spoke with the attending physicians to learn about the latest progress of his treatment and urged the authorities concerned to ensure the continuation of necessary medical care, said a press release of parliament secretariat.

Praying for his early recovery, Barrister Kayser Kamal said, "I pray to Almighty Allah that you recover quickly and return to us soon. I wish you good health and a long life."

He said Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar had made significant contributions to the country's politics and parliamentary democracy.

"The former President's recovery is not only important for his family but also highly desired by the people of the country," the Deputy Speaker said, seeking prayers from the nation for his speedy recovery.

Barrister Muhammad Nowshad Zamir, son of Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, his close relatives, the Deputy Speaker's Private Secretary Md Saiful Islam, officials and employees of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat, and doctors and nurses of the hospital were present during the visit.
