Textbook distribution begins in Chattogram amid festivity

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 1, 2025 (BSS) – Distribution of the new textbook program among primary and secondary students began in Chattogram today with much enthusiasm and festivity.

Primary students of class one to class three have received their textbooks today while students of class four and  five will get their new books by this month, authorities said.

Besides, distribution of all secondary text books will be completed by January 15, District Education Office of Chattogram said .

Seven text books of class six and seven of secondary students have been distributed at different schools of Chattogram city and district today. Other books will be distributed after beginning of academic activities on January 5. Books distribution will be completed by this month, district primary education officer of Chattogram , S M Abdur Rahman said.  

Educational institutions under city’s Kotwali and Panchlaish thana education office have received seven books of class six and seven while other institutions will get books gradually, he said.

Authorities have placed requirements of 44, 18,187 books for a total of 10, 4632 students of 4,066   students of entire Chattogram, officials said.

Earlier, all primary school authorities have received books for class one to three and remaining secondary level schools will get books by January 31, he said.

Primary students went to schools defying cold weather this morning but were found delighted  to receive the new books on the first day of the new year .
