Month-long Jatrapala will mark the month of victory

Dhaka, 30 Nov 2025 (BSS) - Marking the month of victory of the nation, a month-long Jatrapala performance will begin tomorrow at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).
 
Organized by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and managed by BSA, the shows will be staged at the BSA Experimental Theatre Hall every day at 6.30 pm and will continue until 31 December. 

Total 31 registered Jatradal from different parts of the country will take part in the event.

Tickets have been priced at Tk 100 and all proceeds will go directly to the respective Jatra troupes. 

In addition, a special patriotic Jatrapala will be held daily from 5 pm at the open courtyard of the National Theatre Hall.

The month-long programme will feature several Jatrapala, including Mrittur Chokhe Jol, Kashem Malar Prem, Sagar Vasa, Obhagini Bodhu, Apon-Dulal, Gunai Bibi, Siraj-Ud-Duola, Meghe Dhaka Tara, Debi Sultana, Laily-Majnu and Patalpurer Rajkannya, directed by renowned playwrights and directors.

The Theatre and Film Department of BSA said the festival will serve as a major source of inspiration for Jatra artistes across the country.
