5-day oceanographic data analysis training begins at SUST

SYLHET, Jan 05, 2025 (BSS) - A five-day training programme titled 'Statistical Analysis of Oceanographic Data' started at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) here today.

Pro Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Md. Sajedul Karim, inaugurated the event at the conference room of IICT Bhaban this morning.

The Department of Oceanography arranged the training program, which was participated by representatives from different universities and research institutes of Malaysia, India, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka.

Sajedul Karim, in his speech, said it is a matter of delight that the Department of Oceanography of SUST is organizing such international-level training where participants can share their experiences with interactive sessions.

SUST treasurer Professor Dr. Md Ismail Hossain and Computer and Information Centre director Professor Dr. Rezwan Ahmed, among others, were present at the inaugural session with Oceanography Department head Dr. Subrata Sarker in the chair.

A total of 22 participants are taking part in the training. Teachers of SUST and Chattogram University are conducting different sessions.
