40 dengue patients hospitalized in last 24 hrs

DHAKA, Jan 9, 2025 (BSS) – A total of 40 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in the country in the last 24 hours.

"During the period, eight dengue patients were hospitalised in Barishal division (outside city corporation), three in Chattogram (outside city corporation), 11 in Dhaka division, seven in Dhaka North city, six in Dhaka South, three in Rajshahi (out of city corporation), one in Mymensingh division (outside city corporation) and one in Khulna division (outside city corporation)," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today.

The total number of cases rose to 509 while three deaths from dengue disease were reported this year.

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214 while 575 deaths from dengue disease were reported during the period, the statement added.
