Medical tests, doctor's advice important to stay healthy: BRUR VC

 RANGPUR, Jan 15, 2025 (BSS) - Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali has said that medical tests and doctor's advice are very important to stay healthy.

"Everyone, including teachers, students and officials of the university, should undergo regular health checkups for maintaining sound health to lead a normal life," he said.

The Vice-chancellor made the comments while inaugurating a daylong free healthcare camp held at the Independence Memorial ground on the campus as the chief guest today.

 With the assistance of the Hypertension and Research Center, Rangpur (HRCR), the BRUR administration organised the healthcare camp for the teachers, students and officials of the university.

 The healthcare camp provided cost-free medicare services to the teachers, students and officials of the university from 9 am to 5 pm.

 Experts in the healthcare camp measured diabetes level, blood pressure, weight and height, identified diabetes and high blood pressure, and provided immediate treatment and advice.

 In addition, information about lifestyle and diseases, advice and treatment books were provided to patients suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure through registration.

 At this time, founder and executive director of HRCR, former principal of Rangpur Medical College, incumbent principal of TMSS Medical College, Bogra, Professor Dr Md Zakir Hossain, former principal of Rangpur Medical College, Professor Dr Md Sarwar Jahan, BRUR proctor Dr Md Ferdous Rahman and deputy chief medical officer of BRUR Medical Center Dr AMM Shahriar were present.
