One dengue patient dies in last 24 hrs

DHAKA, Jan 18, 2025 (BSS) - One dengue patient died while 40 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till this morning.

“During the period, six patients were hospitalised in Chattogram, seven in Barishal division, seven in Dhaka division, two in Dhaka North city while 14 in Dhaka South, one in Mymensingh and three were admitted to different hospitals in Khulna,” said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of case rose to 831 while eight deaths from dengue disease were reported this year.

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214 while 575 deaths from dengue disease were reported, the statement added.
