Salman F Rahman, Anisul 5 others remanded in murder case

DHAKA, Feb 03, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed seven people including
Salman F Rahman, former private industry affairs adviser to ousted prime
minister Sheikh Hasina, and former law minister Anisul Huq on a two-day
remand each in a case lodged over the murder of autorickshaw driver Hafizul
during the student-led July-August mass uprising.

The other remanded accuseds are Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Dr Dipu Moni, Atiqul
Islam, AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, and Golam Sarwar Pintu.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiak passed the order as police
produced the seven accused before the court and pleaded to place them on a
five-day remand each in the case lodged with the capital's Badda Police
Station.

According to the case documents, autorickshaw driver Hafizul Shikder joined
anti-discrimination student rally in Badda area on July 20. He was shot and
killed at around at around 3pm. A case was filed in this connection on August
21.
