Saraswati Puja celebrated amid festive atmosphere at BRUR

RANGPUR, Feb 3, 2025 (BSS) - Saraswati Puja, one of the religious festivals of the Sanaton community, is being celebrated in a festive atmosphere at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) with a focus on education, knowledge and religious enthusiasm today.
 
The celebration of the worship of goddess Saraswati began with various arrangements at different mandaps erected on the university campus from the morning. 
 
In addition to the central programmes taken by the university administration marking the celebration of Saraswati Puja, the Puja was organized in 26 pavilions (mandaps) in the residential halls and departments on the initiative of students. 
 
In this religious festival of the followers of the Sanaton religion, students offered flowers at the feet of the goddess of knowledge Saraswati. 
 
In the morning, the Vice-chancellor of the university, Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali, visited different pavilions set up by the university authority and students. 
 
He extended greetings to the followers of Sanaton religion and congratulated and thanked all those concerned for organizing Saraswati Puja with the spontaneous participation of students of all departments in a festive atmosphere. 
 
At this time, Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali said that all necessary steps have been taken by the university administration to maintain harmony, brotherhood and peaceful atmosphere on the university campus. 

"I also seek everyone's cooperation to maintain mutual harmony in all activities, including extracurricular activities, as well as studies on the university premises," he added. 
 
Convener of the Saraswati Puja celebration committee of BRUR Professor Dr Suman Kumar Debnath of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Director of the Office of the Student Affairs Professor Dr Md Ileas Pramanik, along with teachers and students were present.
