Islamic University holds Saraswati Puja

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Kushtia, Feb 3, 2025 (BSS)- Saraswati Puja, also known as 
Basant Panchami, was celebrated today at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia 
with great enthusiasm and festivity. 

Students of the Hindu community joyfully participated in the event, marking 
the arrival of spring, worshipping Goddess Saraswati and celebrating the 
triumph of good over evil. 

The rituals and scriptures of the Puja were performed by Partha Pratim 
Chakrabarty from the Department of Statistics of IU. 

In connection with the event, a 'Bani Archona' programme was organised near 
the Islamic University Thana. Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Nakib 
Muhammad Nasrullah attended the event as the chief guest with Prof Dr. 
Arabinda Saha in the chair. 

Other distinguished guests are Pro-VC Prof Yeaqub Ali, Student Advisor Prof 
Dr. Obayedul Islam, Chuadanga Zone ADC Nayan Kumar Rajbangshi and IU Law 
Adviser Advocate Subrata Kumar Chakrabarty. 

The keynote speaker for the event was Chinmayananda Das Babaji Maharaj, 
Principal of Nitai Gour Gopal Seba Ashram in Magura. Additionally, Prof Dr. 
Gautam Chandra Das and Prof Dr. Pareah Chandra Barman also addressed the 
gathering. 

Students adorned the Puja venue with colorful designs and alpana. 
Participants from diverse religious backgrounds joined the celebration, which 
was followed by cultural programmes. 

The VC remarked, "People might assume that this University only nurtures 
Islamic culture, but Islamic University always treats everyone based on their 
identity as students, regardless of their religious beliefs."

"As long as I serve in this position, I will ensure that Islamic University 
upholds equality for all," he added.
