Interpol to issue red notice soon against ICT-wanted criminals, IGP hopes

DHAKA, Feb 5, 2025 (BSS) - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam today hoped that the Interpol will soon issue red notice against those the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) issued arrest warrant for their alleged involvement in crimes against humanity during the July-August uprising.

"I believe that the Interpol will soon issue the red notice against them as it is processing it upon our application," he said.

The police chief made the remarks while replying to a question about the progress of issuance red notice by Interpol against over 100 criminals for whom the ICT issued arrest warrants after coming out of a view exchange meeting with the River Police personnel at its headquarters here. 
 
He said that a sense of responsibility will be laid upon the country since issuance of the red notice by the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) to arrest the criminals.

Home Adviser Lt Gen Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) gave a patience hearing to the problems of the River Police that include manpower and vessel crises and pledged to solve those.

High officials of the Home Ministry and Bangladesh Police were present during the meeting.
