BSMMU to go online appointment for OPD

DHAKA, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS) - BSMMU is going to introduce online appointment for outpatient department (OPD) patients so they can receive treatment without any hassle. 

"In order to improve the quality of medical services in the OPD, the BSMMU authority has taken this initiative," said BSMMU in a media release today.

To this end, a meeting of the university was held today at the conference hall of its Super Specialized Hospital. 

BSMMU has taken the move to reduce the suffering of patients, avoid unnecessary crowding, save time of patients, avoid the hassle of collecting tickets for OPD in standing in long lines, and ensure improved and satisfactory medical services for patients.

"Operation of this initiative will start soon and to be implemented in full-scale step by step," said the BSMMU authority. 

Besides, a preparatory meeting of the university administration will be held tomorrow with the doctors, officers and employees related to the OPD regarding the implementation of online appointment activities at the BSMMU.

BSMMU Vice-Chancellor of BSMMU Professor Dr. Md Shahinul Alam, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Development) Professor Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman Hawlader, Treasurer Professor Dr. Nahreen Akhtar, Registrar Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, IT Cell In-Charge Professor Dr. AKM Akhtaruzzaman, and System Analyst Md. Maruf Hossain, among others, were present at the meeting.
