NBR revokes 2 SROs on tax waiver for Shuchona Foundation

DHAKA, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS) - The National Board of Revenue (NBR) today revoked two SROs related with tax waiver for Shuchona Foundation founded by Saima Wazed Putul, daughter of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

The two SROs were issued on April 6, 2016 and June 19, 2013.

The move of the revenue collecting authority came at the time when the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), after the change of Awami League regime, has initiated a legal operation following allegations of misappropriation of state funds through irregularities and corruption by the foundation’s president and several others.
