DHAKA, Feb 23, 2025 (BSS) – Director General (DG) of Rapid Action 
Battalion (RAB) AKM Shahidur Rahman today said the force’s personnel 
are conducting robust patrolling and intensifying intelligence surveillance 
as the vested quarters are trying to create panic and deteriorate law and 
order through attacks and sabotage. 
 
“All the units of RAB are conducting robust patrolling alongside 
increasing intelligence surveillance across the country to ward off any 
sabotage and violence leading to destabilize the country,” he said while 
speaking to journalists after inspecting the night patrol in the city’s 
Matuail area.   
       
To suppress various crimes, robberies, snatching and thefts, RAB 
personnel along with other law enforcement agencies are conducting 
operations in different parts of the country to maintain the law and order 
situation, he said.
 
The RAB battalions are coordinating with other law enforcement 
agencies through their own control rooms and are monitoring the 
security situation in Dhaka and the entire country round the clock, he 
said.
 
Security has been strengthened by setting up check posts and 
conducting searches at various places across the country, he said.
 
In addition, the RAB Bomb Disposal Unit and Dog Squad have been 
kept ready at all time for any emerging situation, he said.
 
Since February 10, 2025, RAB forces have been conducting operations 
in various parts of the country including the capital through "Operation 
Devil Hunt" to bring those, who create instability, to improve the law and 
order situation nationwide, he said. 
 
RAB has so far arrested 180 suspected criminals, including 40 from the 
capital, 25 from Mymensingh, 24 from Rajshahi, 17 from Sylhet, and 15 
from Narayanganj, and seized one single barrel shooter gun and one 
round of bullet from Rajshahi and one abandoned crude bomb from 
Sirajganj. 
 
The force has also apprehended the kingpin of the notorious 'Kobjikata 
Group' of the capital's Mohammadpur named Md. Anwar @ 
ShooterAnwar @ Kobjikata Anwar, top terrorist of Geneva Camp Bunia 
Sohel and top drug dealer of Geneva Camp Selim Ashrafi @ Chua Selim 
along with their associates.
