67 new books hit Amar Ekushey Book Fair today

DHAKA, Feb 23, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 87 new books hit the stalls of Amar Ekushey Book Fair today, the twenty third day of the fair.

A discussion titled ‘Women in July Uprising: Liability of Privilege’ was held today at the main stage of the book fair.

Mirza Taslima Sutana presented an article with Rehnuma Ahmed in the chair. Shawli Mahbub, among others, spoke at the event.

Later, a cultural function was held at the event.

The fair will begin at 3pm tomorrow and will continue till 9pm.

This year, the fair hosts 99 stalls on the premises of Bangla Academy and 609 stalls at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan.

A total of 708 publishers are participating in the fair, compared to 642 last year.
Visitors can visit the fair from 3pm to 9pm every day. On holidays, it will remain open from 11:00am.

The fair also features 37 pavilions—one at Bangla Academy and 36 at Suhrawardy Udyan. A space designated for little magazines has been set up near the open stage of Suhrawardy Udyan.

The theme for this year's book fair is "July Gono Obbhuthyan: Notun Bangladesh Binirman" (The July Uprising: Rebuilding a New Bangladesh).
