Fire extinguisher explosion leaves two dead

SAVAR, Feb 25, 2025 (BSS) - A sudden fire extinguisher explosion left two persons dead at the Rahim Afroz factory in Savar.

The incident occurred at the factory in Khagan area of Birulia union this afternoon. The victims were identified as Oliur Rahman (49) and Haizuddin (48).

According to the police, a vehicle carrying goods from Metro Net Bangladesh in the capital Dhaka arrived at the factory in the morning. The explosion happened when the workers were unloading goods inside the factory in the afternoon.
 
The bodies of the two workers were later recovered.

Juel Miah, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Savar Model Police Station, said, “The bodies of the deceased have been recovered from the scene. Due to objections from the families, the legal process is underway to hand over the bodies to their families without an autopsy.”
