One dead, two injured in a plant explosion in Japan: reports

TOKYO, March 6, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - An explosion occurred at an auto parts plant in Japan on Thursday, killing one person and injuring two, reports said.

The local fire department received an emergency call that said "a dust collector exploded" and that the "rooftop came off", Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting and Nagoya Broadcasting Network reported.

The incident took place at Chuo Spring Co's plant in the city of Toyota in central Japan.

Firefighters were trying to extinguish a fire that broke out after the explosion, the reports said.

Fire department officials were not immediately available to confirm the report.
