Govt to do everything possible to take children forward: Sharmeen Murshid

Dhaka, March 7, 2025 (BSS) - Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Advisor 
Sharmeen S Murshid said the present government will do everything possible to take the 
children forward.
  
“We have thoughts and perceptions of the children. I hope our children will stand up with 
their strength,” the advisor said while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the 
Martyr Farhan Fayyaz Playground adjacent to the National Parliament Building in Dhaka 
today.
  
She also distributed awards in the friendly football tournament for female athletes with 
special needs, on the occasion of International Women's Day. 
  
“There is no alternative to sports in physical fitness and mental development. We are 
determined to give our children a beautiful life in any environment, overcoming any 
obstacle." Sharmeen S Murshid added.
  
Presided over by the Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare Dr Md Mohiuddin, the 
function was also addressed by Bijoy Krishna Debnath, Managing Director (Additional 
Director) of the National Foundation for the Development of the Disabled, and Shahidullah 
Islam Bhuiyan, father of martyr Farhan Fayaz, who was killed in the July-August mass 
uprising.
