DHAKA, Mar 7, 2025 (BSS) – A group of women under the banner of conscious women today held a protest rally and human chain programme in front of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
Many men were also seen participating in the programme in solidarity with the women's demands. One woman read out a written statement, saying the safety of all women in Bangladesh has now come under question.
They called for the interim government to fulfill its promises to the people and take effective action against the continuous attacks on women.
The women displayed placards with various slogans at the rally. They made several demands during the rally.
They said that the media must stop spreading misinformation and play their responsible role in shaping public opinion. Cyber-bullying must be stopped and exemplary punishment must be provided to the perpetrators, they added.
