Shaheed Mir Mughdo Toron' to inaugurate at KU tomorrow

KHULNA, March 08, 2025 (BSS) - The inauguration ceremony of Khulna University's (KU) main gate, named 'Shahid Mir Mughdo Toron' will be held tomorrow to commemorate the memory of Khulna University's former KU student, Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mughdo, who was martyred in the July 2024 uprising.

Adviser to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Farida Akhter, is expected to inaugurate the 'Shaheed Mir Mughdo Toron' tomorrow noon as chief guest.

Following the inauguration the Adviser will attend a discussion meeting as the chief guest at KU campus. KU VC Professor Dr Md Rezaul Karim will preside over the event.

Among the distinguished guests expected to attend are Professor Dr Md Abdul Majid, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Jashore University of Science and Technology, Professor Dr Md Nazmul Ahsan, VC of Khulna Agricultural University, Professor Dr Md Harun-or-Rashid Khan, Pro-VC of Khulna University (KU), Treasurer of KU Professor Dr Md Nurunnabi and Chief Executive of the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snighdo are expected to attend as special guests.

On July 18, Mugdho, 25, an ex-student of Mathematics Discipline of KU, sacrificed life in the police firing as he was seen distributing water among the students staging demonstration in the Azampur area of Uttara in Dhaka.
