Bangladeshi killed in BSF firing near Panchagarh frontier

PANCHAGARH, March 8, 2025 (BSS) - A Bangladeshi national was killed in firing 
by the Border Security Force (BSF) at the Bhitargarh border in Panchagarh 
Sadar upazila of the district in the early hours of today.

The deceased was identified as Al Amin, 38,son of Suruj Ali Jinnat Para area of 
Harivasan union under Panchagarh Sadar upazila.

Lieutenant Colonel Sheikh Mohammad Badruddoja, commander of the 56th BGB 
Battalion of Nilphamari, confirmed the matter to BSS today.

Earlier, the incident took place at Abalupara, approximately 50 yards inside 
India from Sub Pillar 7 of Border Pillar 744 in the area under Bhitargarh 
Border out Post's (BOP's) Nilphamari Battalion (BGB-56).

Being informed, Lt Col Sheikh Mohammad Badruddoja held a flag meeting with 
the commander of the 46th BSF Battalion at the border pillar 744/7 S area.

"We strongly protested this incident in the flag meeting and called for the 
return of the body," the BGB official added.
