Police's hotline receives 103 complaints, takes prompt action against women violence

DHAKA, March 11, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Police, in a statement, today stated that they received over 100 complaints hours after introducing hotlines for taking swift action against women violence. 

"Police Headquarters launched the hotline from 4 pm on Monday, aimed at taking prompt action to prevent violence against women. Until 8 am today, 103 complaints have so far been received," said the statement. 

In cases where immediate action is required, the relevant police station officers have immediately been sent to the spot to take quick action, it said. 

Of the 103 complaints, 62 are irrelevant such as asking for someone's telephone number and asking for the name and mobile number of a doctor in a private hospital, the statement added.

The police headquarters requested all not to make irrelevant complaints on the hotline numbers - 01320002001, 01320002002 and 0132000222.
