Mahfuj for making BTV time-worthy, popular

DHAKA, Mar 11, 2025 (BSS)– Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam has stressed on making the state run Bangladesh Television (BTV) time-worthy and popular by improving the quality of its programmes. 

“All concerned, including officials and technicians, should work together to turn the BTV into a profitable institution. Besides, BTV's programmes should be made attractive for young generation,” he said.

The adviser said this at a views exchange meeting with BTV officials at BTV headquarters in Rampura today, said a press release.

Emphasizing on digital preservation of the programmes, Mahfuj said BTV's old programmes and news should be preserved online in the form of a digital catalog, so that anyone can watch the old programmes at any time.

The adviser urged the officials concerned to give specific proposals on the issues to be addressed for the development of BTV. 

He assured that the government will extend all cooperation for the overall development of the state run television channel.

BTV Director General Md Mahbubul Alam, Deputy Director General (admin and finance) Mohammad Rukon Uddin, Deputy Director General (news) Dr Syeda Tasmina Ahmed were present on the occasion.

Before attending the meeting, the adviser visited different sections of BTV and studios.
