3.53 lakh children to be fed Vitamin A Capsul in Gaibandha.

GAIBANDHA, MAR 12, 2025 (BSS) - Around 3.53 lakh children would be fed Vitamin A Capsule in all seven upazilas of the district on March 15 to reduce the risk of child mortality.

According to the Civil surgeon's office, 35, 675 children aged 6-11 months would be fed blue color Vitamin A Capsules and the rest 3, 17, 438 children aged 12-59 months would be administered red color Vitamin A Capsules on the day.

This was disclosed by Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr. Rafiquzzaman Rafique to the journalists in an orientation Workshop held at his conference room of the town here on Tuesday afternoon as the main resource person of the health department of the district.

As many as 2033 centers would be set up throughout the district and 1153 supervisors would work round the clock to make the campaign successful, sources said.

At the orientation, Dr. Md. Rezwan Ahmed, Medical Officer (CS), Md. Amirul Islam, junior health education officer spoke among others.

Dr. Rafiquzzaman Rafique in his speech told BSS "Special initiatives have been taken to bring all the children of hard-to-reach chars and remote areas of the district under this programme in cooperation with some NGOs including Friendship"

The CS also sought whole hearted cooperation of all the media men and urged them to create much awareness among the people about the campaign through publishing positive reports also requested to consult with the officials concerned before sending and publishing reports regarding Vitamin A plus campaign here in their respective media.
