JU teacher suspended over sexual harassment

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Mar 19, 2025 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University (JU) authorities suspended Assistant Professor Saju Shaha of the Marketing Department over an allegation of sexual harassment.

JU Registrar and Syndicate Secretary ABM Azizur Rahman confirmed the decision today, stating that the decision was made during an emergency syndicate meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan on Tuesday.

“The university’s anti-sexual harassment cell sent a letter to suspend Assistant Professor Saju Shaha as a sexual harassment complaint was filed against him,” said Azizur Rahman.

“As per the recommendation, the syndicate decided to suspend him temporarily for the interest of fair investigation,” he added.
