DHAKA, April 3, 2025 (BSS) - The anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) this morning arrested three alleged criminals for assaulting a female journalist in the capital's Rampura area.

A spokesman of RAB confirmed the news this noon, saying that the members of RAB-3 arrested the trio based on a case filed with the Rampura Police Station under "The Women and Children Repression Prevention (Amendment) Act".

The detainees were identified as Shoaib Rahman Jishan, 25, Md Raisul Islam, 21, and Md Kawsar Hossain, 21. They were arrested from the capital's Meradia, Bailey Road and Gendaria areas respectively.

RAB said a female journalist was sexually harassed in Rampur area under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on March 2, 2025 by a gang that created huge sensation as it was circulated on various social media.
