World Health Day observed in Sunamganj

SUNAMGANJ, April 7, 2025 (BSS) - The World Health Day was observed today in 
the district with the theme "Let birth be protected, let future be bright". 

Marking the day, the District Civil Surgeon's Office and District Health 
Rights Forum jointly brought out a colourful rally from the Civil Surgeon 
Office premises. 

After the rally, a discussion meeting was held at the District EPI auditorium 
with Civil Surgeon Dr. Jasim Uddin in the chair. 

The meeting was addressed, among others, by Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Sukdev 
Saha, Sunamganj Chest Clinic Junior Consultant Dr. Atanu Bhattacharya, 
Sunamganj Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Jashobanto 
Bhattacharya, President of District Health Rights Forum Mohammad Shahjahan 
Chowdhury, its Vice-President Emdadul Haque Shahjahan and Focal Person Faisal 
Ahmed.

On the occasion, Dr. Rajesh Singh Sithun, Medical Officer of the Civil 
Surgeon's Office, and Dr. Imama Iqbal, Medical Officer of the World Health 
Organization's Surveillance and Immunization at the Civil Surgeon's Office, 
presented various statistics, including antenatal and postnatal care, 
maternal and child mortality rates at the national and local levels, through 
a projector.
