1,81,904 students to appear in SSC exams in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, April 8, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 1,81,904 students, including 87,294 girls, are set to appear in the upcoming Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations under the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Rajshahi.

The examinations, scheduled to begin on April 10, will be held at 269 centres across 2,687 institutions in all eight districts under the Rajshahi Education Board like other educations boards across the country.

Professor Ariful Islam, Controller of Examinations at BISE Rajshahi, confirmed that all necessary preparations have been completed to hold examination successfully. 

Vigilance teams have been formed in collaboration with the respective district and upazila administrations to maintain discipline and security during the exams.

The board has also issued a set of comprehensive guidelines aimed at ensuring the examinations are conducted without disruption.

Prof Islam said 1,92,170 students, including 1,00,167 girls, had registered but 1,63,070 of them, including 80,772 girls, applied for taking part in the examination, meaning that 29,100 students, including 19,395 girls, remained dropout under the board this year. 

In preparation for the exams, BISE Rajshahi recently organized a view-sharing meeting with examination centre secretaries at the conference hall of Rajshahi Central Jail.

The meeting was chaired by Board chairman Prof. ANM Mofakkharul Islam, and attended by secretary Prof. Shamim Ara Chowdhury, controller of examinations Prof. Ariful Islam, and school inspector Ziaul Haque, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Mofakkharul Islam urged the centre-secretaries to perform their respective duties with utmost sincerity and honesty for making the examinations a total success.

He also warned that any irregularities or negligence during the examination process would result in disciplinary action.
