DHAKA, May 2, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today said rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at few places while the weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country during the next 24 hours starting from 9 am today.

"Rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country," the BMD bulletin said.

A trough of low lies over West Bengal to the North Bay across Southwestern part of Bangladesh.

Besides, day temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added. 

The country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 35.8 degrees Celsius at Jashore district in Khulna division while today's minimum temperature 20.0 degrees Celsius was recorded at Rajarhat in Rangpur division.

The sun sets at 6:28 pm today and rises at 5:23 am tomorrow in the capital.
