Sabbir Tower fire under control

DHAKA, May 3, 2025 (BSS) - A fire that broke out in Sabbir Tower at Purana Paltan in the capital on Saturday night was brought under control after four hours of frantic efforts.

The fire originated on the top floor of the multi-storey building opposite to Fars Hotel at 3/4 Purana Paltan around 8:25pm on Saturday, media officer Md Anwarul Islam of Fire Service and Civil Defence told BSS.

Electronic goods were stored on the top floor of the building, he said.

Seven fire fighting engines rushed to the scene and doused the flame around 12:25am on Sunday, he said.

There was no report of casualty till filing of the report.

Anwarul said the cause behind the fire and extent of damage could not be known immediately.
