DHAKA, May 4, 2025 (BSS)- A total of 53 dengue patients were admitted to
different hospitals across the country during the past 24 hours till this
morning.

"During the period, 33 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, six
in Chattogram, four in Dhaka division, one in Dhaka North, seven in Dhaka
South and two were admitted to different hospitals in Mymensingh division,"
said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services
(DGHS).

The total number of cases rose to 2,707 while 20 deaths from dengue, the
mosquito-borne disease, were reported this year.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 29 dengue patients have been released.

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214 while 575 deaths from
the disease were reported, the statement added.
