47 dengue patients hospitalized in 24 hours

DHAKA, May 10, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 47 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 29 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, one in Chattogram, two in Dhaka division, eight in Dhaka North City Corporation, and seven in Dhaka South City Corporation, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a press release today.

With the latest figures, the total number of dengue cases in the country this year has risen to 2,972. So far, 21 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease have been reported in 2025.

During the same 24-hour period, 23 patients were released after receiving treatment.

According to DGHS data, Bangladesh recorded 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths in 2024.
