DHAKA, May 11, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam welcomed the interim government's decision to ban all activities of the Awami League.

In a Facebook post, Nahid Islam said, "Congratulations to the revolutionary students and people. Congratulations to the government as well. We want the implementation of all decisions in near future. We must continue our movement for the July Declaration and the issue of justice."

"The fascist mass murderers across the country must be identified and brought to justice," he said, adding, "The Election Commission must have to cancel the registration of the banned fascist Awami League as soon as possible."

Nahid's statement came as the Advisory Council has decided to ban all activities of the Awami League under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Amid growing protests seeking the AL ban, Law Adviser Asif Nazrul made the announcement last night at a press conference following a meeting of the Advisory Council chaired by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.
