DHAKA, May 12, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 82 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the last 24 hours till this morning.

"During the period, 40 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 15 in Chattogram, five in Dhaka division, six in Dhaka North, eleven in Dhaka South, one in Mymensingh division and four were admitted to different hospitals in Khulna division," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of cases rose to 3,068 while 21 deaths from dengue, the mosquito-borne disease, were reported this year.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 83 dengue patients have been released.
Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214 while 575 deaths from the disease were reported, the statement added.
