48 dengue patients hospitalized in 24hrs

DHAKA, May 13, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 48 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 23 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, five in Chattogram, five in Dhaka division, two in Khulna Division, one in Rangpur Division, four in Dhaka North City Corporation, four in Dhaka South City Corporation and four were admitted in different hospitals in Sylhet Division, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a press release today.

With the latest figures, the total number of dengue cases in the country this year has risen to 3,116. So far, 21 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease have been reported in 2025.

During the same 24-hour period, 46 patients were released after receiving treatment.

According to DGHS data, Bangladesh recorded 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths in 2024.
