23 new dengue patients hospitalized in 24 hours

DHAKA, May 16, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 23 new dengue patients were admitted 
to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 10 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, and 13 
in Dhaka division within the last 24 hours, a press release from the 
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said today.

However, no death incidents were reported in the meantime.

With the latest figures, the total number of dengue cases in the country this 
year has risen to 3,278. Of them, 2,996 patients were released and 21 
patients died.

During the same 24-hour period, 7 patients were released after receiving 
treatment.

According to DGHS data, Bangladesh recorded 101,214 dengue cases and 575 
deaths in 2024.
