One dengue patient dies, 101 hospitalized in last 24 hours

DHAKA, May 20, 2025 (BSS) – One dengue patient died and 101 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours.

“During the period, 42 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 15 in Chattogram, six in Dhaka division, 10 in Dhaka North, 24 in Dhaka South, one in Mymensingh, one in Rangpur and two were admitted to different hospitals in Khulna,” said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Meanwhile, one death was reported from dengue and 76 patients were released from hospitals after receiving treatment.

The total number of cases rose to 3,637 while 23 deaths from dengue disease were reported this year.

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214 while 575 deaths from dengue disease were reported, the statement added.
