DHAKA, May 23, 2025 (BSS) - Religious Affairs Adviser Dr A F M Khalid Hossain today rushed to the hospital in Thailand to see July martyr Mohammad Hasan.
According to a press release received here today, the adviser visited the hospital soon after receiving the news of Hasan's death in the hospital this morning.
He rushed to the Phyathai Hospital in Thailand, while Bangladesh Ambassador to Thailand Faiyaz Murshid Kazi and Labour Councilor Fahad Parvez Basunia were present.
Hasan died in Thailand at 11.10pm on Thursday while under treatment at a hospital following a gunshot wound to the head during the July-August mass uprising in Chattogram.
On November 25, he was flown to Thailand for improved treatment. For a brief period in April, Hasan showed signs of recovery and was moved off life support on April 10. But his condition declined again, and he was readmitted to intensive care on April 25.
The religious affairs adviser expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Hasan and expressed condolence to the bereaved family members.
He consoled Hasan's mother and sister present at the hospital.
Later, the adviser offered prayers and sought eternal peace of Hasan's soul.
Hasan, 19, was critically injured in Chattogram's Tigerpass area during the peak of the protests.
Initially treated at Chattogram Medical College Hospital, he was later moved to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on September 2, 2024, for advanced care.
