12kg LPG cylinder price reduced by Tk. 28

DHAKA, June 02, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has reduced the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) of 12 kg cylinder at retailer level by Tk. 28 which would be sold now at Taka 1,403 instead of Tk. 1,431.

The chairman of the commission Jalal Ahmed announced the new price at a press conference here today.

He said the new price will be effective from 6 PM this evening and all LPG marketing companies will implement the new price.

Ahmed said the BERC also reduced the prices of auto gas at Tk. 64.30 per litre, reducing the amount by Tk 1.27

He also said that price of government owned 12.50 kg LPG cylinder at dealer/retailer will remain unchanged at Taka 825.

He said that the price adjustment for private LPG has been made in line with the Saudi CP (Contract Price). 

According to the new fixation, the price of 5.5 kg LPG cylinder at private sector has been fixed at Tk. 643, 12.5 kg LPG at Tk. 1,462, 15 kg at Tk. 1,754, 16 kg at Tk. 1,871, 18 kg at Tk. 2,105, 20 kg at Tk. 2,339, 22 kg at Tk. 2,573, 25 kg at Tk. 2,924, 30 kg at Tk. 3,508, 33 kg at Tk. 3,859, 35 kg at Tk. 4,093 and 45 kg at Tk. 5,262.

The chairman said the price was re-fixed keeping adjustment of the fuel price in the international market as Saudi Aramco has slashed the official selling prices for propane and butane for May.

The new prices are set at $600 per tonne for propane and $570 per tonne for butane, he added.
