DHAKA, June 3, 2025 (BSS) – The government in a recent meeting decided to develop a counter-narrative to confront the audio-video propaganda on the social media platforms to maintain the country’s overall law and order.

“A decision was taken in principle to prepare a narrative to counter the untrue and baseless audio-video propaganda on the social media platforms to inform the people aimed at upholding the law and order,” said a Home Ministry statement issued today.

The decision was taken in the ninth meeting of the Advisory Council with Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) in the chair.

The meeting also decided to put the law enforcement agencies on alert and active as the vested groups cannot create unrest in the country through spreading propaganda and rumour.

Caution would be maintained as no banned organization or any party and vested groups cannot destroy the communal harmony and create instability in the country, the statement said.

The meeting also decided to take special measures to ensure safety and security of the home-goers alongside easing traffic congestion ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha.

“In addition, a decision was also taken to check Rohingya infiltration,” it said.

The meeting has given several instructions to maintain law and order in the industrial zones across the country and give salaries, bonus and other benefits of the garment workers in due time.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment, Industrial Police and intelligence agencies have been asked to monitor the situation intensively as none can create instability through spreading rumour.
