JnU receives remaining 11.40 acres of land for second campus

DHAKA, June 3, 2025 (BSS) - Jagannath University (JnU) authorities have officially taken possession of the remaining 11.40 acres of land, completing the handover of 200 acres allocated for its second campus in the Teghoria area of Keraniganj upazila.

The Dhaka District Administration formally handed over the land today. 

Treasurer of the university Prof Dr Sabina Sharmin, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Prof Dr Muhammad Murshed Bhuyan, Registrar Prof Sheikh Md Giyas Uddin, Controller of Examinations Prof Dr Mostofa Hasan, and Proctor Dr Muhammad Tajammul Haque, among others, were present at the event.

Earlier, the Land Acquisition Branch-02 of the Dhaka Deputy Commissioner's Office issued a notification regarding the land transfer on Monday.

According to university sources, the 200-acre second campus project for Jagannath University was approved at an ECNEC meeting in 2017. Of the total, 188.60 acres were handed over on January 23, 2020, while the remaining 11.40 acres were pending until today.
